#3 Hearing and Seeing God through the Peace of God
#3 The peace of God
Sometimes it is simply by the peace of God that we know His will. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7) There are times when I need to make a decision and I have no other indication from the Lord, I will try to check within myself if I really have the peace of God in the direction that I believe I should go. This does not always match up with external situations, especially when we are in a stormy situation. But we can learn from Jesus who was at peace and sleeping in the middle of the storm. When they woke Him up, He rebuked the storm, and it became perfectly calm. (See Mark 4:37-41) You have authority in the storm where you have peace, but when you lose that peace it can be very difficult to decern the will and direction of the Lord. Peace is also part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. So may the peace of God, which surpasses all natural understanding and comprehension, guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
