It is a place to cultivate intimacy with God.
It is a place of intercession for the needs of others.
And it is a place where impartation of truth takes place.
Many people have experienced the presence of the Lord in My Father’s House, the House of Prayer at Adaklu Mountain. When we lived at the pineapple farm, I used to look out my window at a panoramic view of Adaklu Mountain. It seemed to me that there should be a place for people to come and pray at the foot of that mountain. One day in the fall of 2005, Jake, Cassandra Siemens and I made a list of all the things that were needed in the area. Then we prayed about which was priority to God. All three of us felt that God was saying that the House of Prayer was His top priority. We went to visit family in Canada, the States and Mexico that year. In one of the churches that we shared the vision for the House of Prayer, a business man came forward and offered to sponsor the project. The building was complete and dedicated to the Lord in 2007. In the words of one of our board members, “It seems like a miracle!”
We have many examples of answered prayer. Our Ghanaian prayer team felt that we needed a new tractor, since the old one kept breaking down. We agreed so we began to pray and within two years the Lord provided five new tractors! This is just one example of answered prayer. We hold prayer meetings with women and children. At times we hold conferences for pastors and leaders.
We would like to be able to host more guests at My Father’s House for prayer and volunteer work in the community. We are planning to build more facilities for people to come and stay for prayer retreats. We also plan to build some class rooms.
