In March of 2003, we had a clear calling from the Lord to missions in Ghana, West Africa. By August 2nd, we had a one way ticket and headed into an adventure that changed our lives, as we began our life as missionaries in the unknown and unfamiliar.
By July of 2004, we had founded and registered Reddekopp Ministries as an NGO in Ghana. At this time, we headed back home to Canada. As advised by Revenue Canada Charities, we registered Reddekopp Ministries, Canada, which opened the door to legally operate in any country as a Canadian charitable organization. The Lord obviously guided us in this and we got this registration in less then two months.
By this time, we had a clearer picture of what our calling and objectives were to be in Ghana, so we shared it with others. Some were moved to stand with us in our humble beginnings and supported us financially and in prayers to move ahead. At this time, we ended up shipping a container with some farm equipment for the agriculture project, and lots of used clothing and more things to bless the communities where we were establishing in Ghana.
For the past 20 years, we have been evangelizing in many villages and seen many people respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2007, the Lord led us to build My Father’s House, a house of prayer for all nations (Isaiah 56:7). This has become our home base for everything else we do.
By the leading of the Lord, we started church in this building in 2016, and now we have 7 churches in Ghana and 2 churches in Togo.
Kingdom School of Leadership is our Christian day school, also located on our main campus. Presently, we have 220 students, 45 of which are living on campus during school season. 43 of these 45 children come from Muslim communities, but here, they experience the love of Jesus through teaching and practical living.
Through your donations we have helped provide clean drinking water to about 130 rural communities.
Over the years, we have given out thousands of gift boxes to children. For most of these children, it is the first time they have ever received such a gift. We have given thousands of baby bundles, blankets, and used clothing.
In the beginning years, we helped the farmers out as we could. They had a hoe and a machete. Through our equipment, we were able to help them with plowing, so many of them expanded their little plots to start growing more. In 2012, one of our staff said, “We still have food in the village, and it is because of the farm equipment. If not, we would be going hungry by now.” That was at the end of the long dry season.
We look ahead and plan to continue with what we are already doing. However, we feel an urgency to focus more on evangelism and spreading the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ. We see in the Spirit the calling and an open door to go big with evangelism, especially in the north of Ghana, and perhaps into other West African Nations.
After people respond to the Gospel, they need discipleship, and then it becomes a church. The people are the church. Then there is a need for leaders and church buildings. But we want to run the race set before us in faith, trusting the Lord in everything.
We invite you to partner with us in whatever way the Lord may call you. Pray for us and with us. Come for short- or long-term missions. You can help in the school. You can help disciple small churches for three to six months, focusing on helping two or three villages to get rooted and grounded in Christ and His word. You can come with a team and do outreach in the way of medical clinics, sharing the gospel, giving out gift boxes to children, or other projects as the Lord may lead.
