The Unshakable Kingdom
The Hebrew writer talks about the time when the Lord spoke to Israel, and the fearful event that it was for them at that time. Then he warns us to not refuse Him who is speaking to us now, for “His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised saying, yet once more will I not only shake the earth, but also the heaven. This expression, yet once more, denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
Today, the kingdoms of this world are shaking in many ways. There is a high level of uncertainty; the economy is shaking on so many levels in many nations. There is the war of ISIS. The refugee crises, although there are some true refugees, but I told Katharine just a couple of days ago that I did not believe that the thousands that are streaming into Europe were refugees. Rather, most of these are people seeing an open door to enter targeted countries to infiltrate. Then yesterday we saw on the news how ISIS is sending these young men for their evil agenda. These are just a few of many issues in the world right now.
But our eyes are on the Lord Jesus who is “seated in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion” and we are called to be seated with Him in that heavenly place! Our perspective needs to be from that heavenly eternal view point and not from the earthly temporal view point.
Jesus taught us to pray “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. His Kingdom is coming and Jesus will rule and reign over all the earth, and those who qualify will rule with Him. Jesus is not loosing this war, the winner has been declared in advance! His Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom that has no end to its increase, and His saints inherit this kingdom for all ages to come! So our eyes are on the Lord Jesus Christ continually, we walk with Him daily, hearing His voice, seeking first and foremost His kingdom and His righteousness, and then we put our trust fully in Him and do not fear or be dismayed.
At the same time, we need “discernment and wisdom” as in the days of Joseph, so we can know how to be prepared for the days ahead. We need the “wisdom of the sons of Issachar, who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do”. So we too need wisdom and understanding for our time right now, with knowledge what to do. So may we seek the Lord, and He will give us what we need so we can co-labor with Him in this crucial and exciting time. Don’t miss out, the Lord has great things in store for His saints.
In Christ
