Signs in the Heavens ~ Part 2
The Feast of Tabernacles ~ The Feast of Glory
In my last writing about the signs in the heavens I wrote about the significance of the four blood moons and two solar eclipses that will appear in 2014 and 2015 starting this Passover. I pointed out that Israel was commanded to celebrate three main feasts each year, and that Jesus fulfilled the Feast of Passover when He died and rose again during the feast of Passover. And Pentecost was fulfilled when the Holy Spirit came during the Feast of Pentecost. But the last feast, the Feast of Tabernacles (which is also called the great feast) has not yet been fulfilled in the new covenant. And this is where many believe we are at right now. I believe it with all my heart that we are in the season where this feast will be fulfilled.
The blood moons and solar eclipses appearing on the feasts of Israel are signs from God. Genesis 1:14 says that the sun, moon and stars are for signs and seasons. Also read Joel 2:31-32, Luke 21:25-28, Acts 2:16-21. Over a period of about 500 years this has only happened three times.
In 1492 the Jews are given fourteen days to leave Spain. America becomes their new home which was established on Godly principles which was great victory for the church.
In 1948 Just prier is the holocaust and now Israel is reborn as a nation, and revival in the church.
In 1967 is the 6 day war, God intervenes and Israel gains Jerusalem, and revival in the church.
I wrote a bit more details on this on my last writing.
Now this is happening again starting this Passover through September 2015. These signs, and the prophetic fulfilments of Israel, the history of the church along with the scriptures help us to see where we are at in God’s time table and give us high hopes of the Feast of Tabernacles to be upon us.
Many people think that what is spoken in scripture will automatically be fulfilled like a computerized program. But few realize that many prophecies are only fulfilled as God finds yielded vessels through whom He can fulfill them. One example of this is in Daniel 9. When he learned of the prophecy of Jeremiah (two years before the seventy years were complete)that Israel would be set free in seventy years, he gave his “attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes”. And Daniel became a vessel through whom the Lord set His people free. So again the Lord is looking for yielded vessels through whom He can move in this hour.
The Feast of Tabernacles has many applications
1 The Feast of Unity
2 The Feast of Joy
3 The Feast of Ingathering
4 The Feast of Rest
5 The Feast of Glory
6 The Feast of Restoration
7The Feast of His Appearing
I want to focus on the glory of the Lord and the appearing of Jesus Christ, because I believe these are the least understood or talked about in a big part of the body of Christ.
The Feast of Tabernacles-The Feast of Glory
The Temple of Solomon was dedicated during the Feast of Tabernacles. We read in 2 Chronicles 5:11-14. “When the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions), and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, “He indeed is good for His loving kindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.” NASU
The priests, the worshippers and ministers had made a great deal in getting ready for this feast and for the dedication of the temple. They had prepared themselves spiritually, the fine linen speak of being clean and without sin, and they prepared to give praise and glory to God with all the activities of singing, prayers and sacrifices etc. And as they in unison, in one accord praised and blessed the living God, He came down in a pillar of cloud and glory!
Israel experienced the glory of God as He came down in a pillar of cloud and fire. When the Egyptians pursued them, this glory went between Israel and the Egyptians, and the same glory brought light, direction and salvation on God’s people, and at the same time this glory brought confusion and destruction to the Egyptians. This is a type of what we believe we can expect when the Feast of Tabernacles will be fulfilled, God’s glory is going to be salvation and a great deliverance for His people and at the same time judgment to the world.
We have this same picture that speaks of the Lord’s second coming in 2 Thessalonians 1: 5-10 “This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed — for our testimony to you was believed.” NASU “when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven” and again “when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day”. He is coming to be revealed and be glorified in His saints.
Moses experienced the glory of the Lord in the wilderness and God spoke with Moses face to face as a man speaks with his friend. And we are told in 2 Corinthians 3 that the glory in the New Covenant is to be greater than what Israel experienced. The Church will yet experience the glory of the Lord and walk in all that she is called to walk in and do even the greater works that Jesus said those would do who believe in Him. (John 14:12) It is “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). We shall see the sick healed, we shall see the dead raised, we shall see the leopards cleansed, we shall see the demonic and oppressed set free, and the message of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world, all that Jesus did and more shall the church experience, for Jesus came as a Man in one body, and now He has many brethren, the overcomer, the bride that has made herself ready through whom the world will yet see the glory of the Lord.
The church has had some great revivals in history and we are walking in restored truths that have been reestablished with each revival since the dark ages, but history shows that we have not yet seen the fullness of the glory of the Lord and the fulfillment of this great Feast of Tabernacles. We are now fully anticipating this great feast to be fulfilled in our time. Are you going to be a vessel that can discern the sign of the times, prepare and position yourself so the Lord can reveal His glory through you?
