2014 Vision Update
Hello Friends.
Here is a short update on the vision 2014 program. We were surprised how quickly a good amount of money came together. As you can see from the pictures, we are still in the process of getting the cafeteria up, but we are very close to completion. I had hoped that the cafeteria would be done in a very short time, but I was wrong. The main reason for it taking much longer is the bamboo roof.
Now why a bamboo roof? As I mentioned, I thought it was local and thought it would also be simple. But still, the main reason was that when it rains there is hardly any noise compared to the tin roofing sheets, and when the sun is shining, it’s so very hot, the bamboo roof keeps the room cool where the tin sheets heat up too much.
I thought bamboo was local and simple. Now it is local alright, but the simple part is where I was wrong. We could write a small book on all the obstacles we went through from people who said they knew how to do it when in fact they did not, from getting the right cut, treatment and all the way up to the roofing.
We are very happy to have this cafeteria with a kitchen, storage room and a good size dining area. We are seeing that it will be a great blessing to the ministry here. Especially for our 40 Days @ My Father’s House program and for conferences.
Thank you for being a part in the ministry of the Gospel here in Ghana. We do pray that the Lord bless you for all you do for us and for the ministry.
