Discerning the signs of the times
We are seeing Catholics, Presbyterian’s, and Pentecostal’s, Baptists, Apostolic and other churches gathering around one purpose, to learn and get to know God more. for our conferences. This week we had a two day conference and evening evangelism in Adidome. Then we had a one day gathering in the city of Aflao which is a border town to Togo. Then on Thursday we were on the way to bring Trudy to Accra to fly back to Canada. We happened to meet a group of Nigerian pastors who were on the way to a conference in Accra. They had planned the conference along with a Canadian who at the last minute and for good reasons could not come, so they asked me to come and minister on his behalf. Well, I had prayed in the morning for divine connections, something I had not done in a long time, and even that morning after I prayed, I wondered why I prayed this specifically. But after meeting these pastors, I remembered the prayer and considered the whole thing to be of the Lord, and agreed to minister at their conference the following day. Our message is about the kingdom of God, we are trying to do the best of our ability to help the people know the times we are living in. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees because they were able “to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?” Matthew 16:3.
The Feast of Passover and Pentecost have been fulfilled in the new covenant, but we are now at the time were we believe the feast of Tabernacles is going to be fulfilled! And that is great news for the true follower of Christ, but could also be bad news for unbelievers because when Jesus comes, we are expecting Him to come with great glory and power. But remember the glory of God came between Israel and they enemies, and the same glory that brought light, direction and salvation to God’s people, also brought confusion and judgment to the world. Remember, Jesus is coming to the church before He is coming for the church. Now we are expecting His appearing. Which side of the cloud are we on?
